Joseph Iannelli (Joe) lives and breathes the restaurant business. Together with his wife Arlene and son Michael he operates Casa Bella Italian Restaurant in Aiken South Carolina. Collectively, they consider the dining experience from every angle: cooking, design, and comfort.

Joe was born in Italy, Isernia, a province in Central Italy's Abruzzo region. He grew up eating his mother's specialties and assimilating her tastes. He brought both a passion for Italian food and an appreciation of cosmopolitan dining with him to the U.S. Unlike many restaurant owners, Joe did not go to school to learn the business. "I learned from the school of hard knocks", he jokes. He credits a mix of on-the-job training and how his favorite restaurants operate to come up with his own "receipt" for success. Joe artfully blends quality cuisine and customer care to create a restaurant with excellent food and a relaxed ambiance. He wants his customers fine dining experience to begin the moment they walk through the door of the 1896 Victorian mansion with crisp clean surroundings and inviting cooking aromas.

Joe's food is based on his mother's recipes with plenty of world influences mixed in. They also like to make use of local ingredients. Shrimp, Beaufort's staple, appears in several dishes. Joe serves fresh Chilean Sea Bass Francese a signature dish created from white wine, butter, lemon sauce, to die for. Joe's customers are very happy to have Casa Bella in town. One diner declared it "a grand addition to Aiken's downtown" and branded his meal Veal Osso Buco "EXCELLENT".
